Social Butterfly

Although lots of our days are now spent packing and prepping the house, we still make sure we take time to relax and have a good time. This past weekend we continued with our tradition of Friday festivals at Belvedere, and joined Jas' cousin's kids for a double birthday celebration.

Birthday Party Pics First...

Chase's first time in a swing. He loved it!

Look at those awesome cakes! Hopefully they can still come to Chase's birthday party, because I'm hoping to recruit those cake decorating skills!

I didn't get a chance to get photos of Chase with his second cousins, but we had a great time catching up with everyone. Some of the family hasn't seen him since the hospital last year, and for a few people this was their first time meeting him! He is such a good little guy that he doesn't mind being passed around, and mommy and daddy appreciate getting to sit together to eat sometimes:) Happy Birthday Peyton and Hunter, can't wait to see you again soon!

Still hungry because I was too busy playing in the chair to eat my food

I think I've talked about Friday festivals in previous posts, and it will certainly be one of the things to add to our "to be missed" list about Baltimore. The weather actually held out and we got to meet up with a few friends and enjoy some yummy treats and craft beers. Oh yeah, and people watching:) Jason was very patient with the crowd next to us, he likes to refer to my girlfriends and I as the "Woo" girls after a few drinks, but these women were pretty annoying. We made a note to get to the festival even earlier this Friday to stake out a good spot for our friends and their kiddos.

All Clean

Since Chase continues to prefer showers to baths, we don't have any cute tub pics. So I figured pics in his bathrobe would have to do. You might be curious as to why we post so many pics of Chase in his crib. To be honest, it buys us a little time to get stuff done. We can put him in there with some toys and he's happy as a clam(not sure what makes a clam happy, but anyway). This morning he spent half and hour after he woke up talking to himself:)

Mommy and Daddy Weekend

You'd think by the title of this post we'd have something fabulously romantic planned for our weekend without Chase. No such luck, our parents are watching him so we can finish our "punch' list before we put the house on the market. After a full day of sanding, painting, and cleaning grout, we're pretty wiped out. The roof and porch are finally fixed, and we're in the home stretch. Well sort of...

You know I'm really tired when we have an opportunity to eat a meal without any little hands grabbing our plates, and we end of having PB&J and a good bottle of Dogfishead. I don't remember when we last had PB&J, Jason goes through a jar of peanut butter a week(I kid you not) so we generally don't have any left in the house.

Breakfast out tomorrow? Maybe we can squeeze something in before the home improvements begin again:)

GBMC NICU 5K Race

It's that time of year again, the GBMC NICU 5K Father's Day race is coming up and we need your help. As you are aware, without the GBMC NICU and their awesome staff our little man wouldn't be where he is today. Please help out any way you can so they can help other families as much as they helped us.

Here is the link to our fundraising page. Please help us reach/exceed our goal.

My First Mother's Day

I hope all of the moms out there had as wonderful a day as I did! Chase and Jason made my day very special from start to finish with presents, breakfast, and a picnic at a winery-who could ask for more? I would have been happy just hanging around the house with my two boys, but all of the sweet things they planned for the day made it even more special; and of course made my first Mother's Day so memorable.

Can I just say...I'm so lucky to have such a fantastic husband and lovable healthy little boy!

The weather was beautiful, and we packed up our picnic basket with lots of delicious cheeses(truffled chevre yummmm:), fruit, and goodies to pair with our wine. We set out to get to the Mother's Day event early, and actually got out of the house on time!! Apparently lots of other families had the same idea, because when we arrived only 20 minutes after the opening the line was pretty long, and lots of the prime shaded areas were already taken! I love these kind of events. People watching is one of my favorite pastimes, and there were so many cute little ones running around! Chase recently has been getting super giggly and chatty when he sees other kids, its so adorable.

Chase and I getting ready for our first Mother's Day picnic!

All the moms got tiaras. I thought I was a little too cool to wear mine:) but I did put it on for a photo op.

Enough eating, time to explore.

Oh btw, Chase likes grass now! This picture was taken right before he rolled down the hill a little bit. No tears, just a little bump on his head. Daddy made it all better!

He's a trooper

Taking a break from crawling and talking to the back of the chair. Chase has lots of "conversations" with things in his environment

Oooh, something knew to explore(and try to put in my mouth)

Still lovin' Sophie! Mommy thought she was a better choice than the leaves.

Soaring high and making mommy smile

What a wonderful day. I'm so thankful for our family, and I love being a mom!!!

11 Months Already!!

Almost Wordless Wednesday....
A few captions never hurt!

Out to dinner at Clementine, Chase and Daddy's shirts both match the curtains

Raspberry face!

I was trying very hard to get him to cooperate while standing so you could see the words "Little Racer" on his jumper. This was the very first outfit I bought when I found out I was having a boy. It's size 9 mo. and I remember when Chase was born I felt like it was never going to fit him. Now I think I waited a little too long and he'll only be able to wear it a few times:(

Yay! More boxes!

Chase spent a while folding and unfolding the flaps

And he tested out some new bins as well!

Such a big boy already, one more month til my birthday!!
